M.A.Y. – Me Art You – was the project at the May meeting of the Westchase Artists Society. Members took turns posing and sketching each other for five-minute intervals. Visiting the group for the first time were mother and daughter Jill and Claire Chesney, who shared their artwork and also participated in the group activity.
The art show Divine Equine III will open at Great Art and Frame in West Park Village on Friday, July 23, from 6-8:30 p.m. Westchase residents are invited. The opening reception is free and will feature refreshments by Cody’s Original Roadhouse. Valet parking will be available.

3rd Annual Divine Equine art show
You are invited to create original works to submit for The 3rd Annual Divine Equine art show which will open on July 23th and carry on until August 20, 2010. Last year we had over 200 art lovers the evening of the opening event. We raised over $6,000 for Quantum Leap Farm - Horses for Healing Veterans during the month of the show.
The split on art sales will be 40 artist/40 gallery/20 charity on the sale of major works.
DEADLINE:
Please have your submission(s) in digital format emailed to us by June 30, 2009 for approval. Also include size, media, and price for each submission. If you are approved to participate you must be willing to provide a small original work which will fit into an 8" x 8" frame. We can accept sculpture, mosaics, paintings, and drawings as long as it fits into an 8x8 frame.
Last year we sold over $2000 worth of mini-pieces and I expect they will be hot sellers this year too! They will be displayed on tables and will sell for the set price of $75 each regardless of the artist's usual pricing. The gallery will have a crew fitting the art into the 8x8 frames so they will be ready by the end of the evening. The split on these will be $25 to artist, $25 to gallery, $25 to Quantum Leap Farm. So if you provide more than one original mini-piece, and they all sell, you can make $25 on each one!
If you would like to donate something (art lessons, art work, something from your day job or family business), please let me know so we can include you as a sponsor and get your promotional display made.
Please pass this along to any other artists you think might be interested in the show. Our goal is to raise $8,000 this year. I hope you will join the fun. -Thanks!
