Artist of the Month: Dean Mackey

Dean Mackey, currently president of the Westchase Artists Society, was selected as the June Artist of the Month. Mackey expresses his artistic talents in the medium of paper airplanes. He first began making paper airplanes professionally in 2000 at a kid’s Space Day event in Massachusetts. Seeing a lot of creativity by other paper airplane enthusiasts on the web, Mackey added his own special creativity and organized the Online Paper Airplane Museum (www.theonlinepaperairplanemuseum.com), which features instructions for hundreds of styles of airplanes. In his spare time, Mackey enjoys to garden, read, travel, study tae kwon do and ride roller coasters. More information about Mackey can be found on the blog portion of the group Web site.
